Google bundles privacy and security settings into single hub

Google has created a central location for nearly all of its privacy and security features and options. Dubbed My Account, this new section allows users to review security settings and activities via a security checkup as well as manage visibility settings and the data Google uses to personalize a user’s experience.

To reach the new My Account dashboard, simply open a Google search or Gmail, click on your account picture at the top of the screen and select “Account” from the drop-down menu. Optionally, you can follow the direct URL at myaccount.google.com

The dashboard is split into three major categories: Sign-in & security, Personal info & privacy and Account preferences.

Sign-in & security lets a user manage their passwords and account access settings. Specifically, you can do things like enable two-factor authentication, allow or deny less secure apps and control account recovery options.

Under Personal info & privacy, it’s possible to edit basic information like your name, e-mail, phone number and picture as well as see which devices recently had access to your account and manage ad settings. You’ll also find account history in this section and be able to pause data collection and delete saved history.

Last but not least is Account preferences where you can control language and accessibility options as well as delete accounts and services if you so desire.

If you haven’t combed through these options in a while, it might be worth it to pop in for a quick look around. I found a substantial collection of voicemails left on my Google Voice account (all junk, of course).
