Why the best Android smartphone could be the Droid Turbo

TechRepublic's Android specialist, Jack Wallen, takes a look at the Droid Turbo and explains why it may very well be the best Android phone that you've never heard of.

By my count, there are a bajillion smartphones currently on the market. Make that a bajillion and one. With all that variety, which device should you choose? You need power, a great screen, good battery life, the flexibility of Android, and ... what? Why not throw in a camera with more megapixels than you'll ever possibly need?

That is what you get with the Droid Turbo. Quite honestly, it's probably more power than you have on your desktop computer right now. I'm talking Snapdragon 805 processor with 2.7 GHz quad-core CPU, 64 Megs of RAM, and an Adreno 420 GPU running at 600 MHz. It's fast. Really fast.

But apart from being one of the most powerful smartphones on the planet, one of the few devices that can record 4K video, and sexy wrapped in ballistic nylon, what makes this device any better than the next? In a word... battery life.

Two days worth of battery, to be exact. Not one, not one and a half... two. 48 hours.

And after those two days of usage, you can take advantage of the Droid Turbo Charger and get eight hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.

Let all that math sink in. Go on, I'll wait for you.

Seriously, if you're looking for a best in breed that will never let you down, don't even bother giving the competition a first or second look. Head straight to your carrier and hope that they offer the Droid Turbo. If your doesn't, Verizon does.

This baby is ready to power you through a couple of days usage, and then keep you going with a quick 15 minute charge.

The Droid Turbo. You can thank me later.
